Alpine House, Silver Valley
A historic 1902 lodge in Wardner, once known as the Redman Lodge, reimagined into a luxury ski-in, bike-in retreat with true access to Silver Mountain Resort.

The story
High in Wardner’s Silver Valley, at the edge of Silver Mountain Resort, stands a home with real history behind it. Originally built in 1902, the structure has served the community in several different forms over the decades, including as a church and later as a ski lodge, before Bespoke took on a full, ground-up renovation completed in 2024.
We call it the Alpine House now. Locally, it’s remembered as the old Redman Lodge, and it survived North Idaho’s 1910 fires, a detail that made honoring the original frame and footprint feel like the right call rather than starting from a clean slate.
What we kept, and what we rebuilt
Restoration work honored the lodge’s original frame and its commanding presence on its roughly 8,276-square-foot level lot. That meant abating more than 10,000 pounds of old asbestos cladding, restoring original wood siding where it could be saved, and adding a new composition roof and exposed aggregate front steps. Inside, tall ceilings and exposed original beams carry the building’s history forward, while new mechanical systems, structural reinforcement, and finished interiors bring it up to a modern standard of comfort and performance.
The finished home spans nearly 3,932 square feet across four bedrooms and three bathrooms. A great room with vaulted ceilings and a dramatic fireplace anchors the main living level, opening into a connected kitchen and dining space finished in black shaker cabinetry, white quartz, and warm wood accents. Nearly every room is oriented toward the surrounding forested valley and the Silver Mountain gondola beyond.
Built for how the property actually gets used
A lower-level recreation lounge, outfitted for movie nights, ping pong, billiards, and shuffleboard, extends the home’s living space for groups and multigenerational gatherings. Mechanical upgrades, including forced-air heating, central air conditioning, high-efficiency windows, and modern insulation, keep the home comfortable through North Idaho’s full range of seasons.
The lodge’s standout feature is true ski-in, bike-in access to Silver Mountain Resort: skiing and snowmobiling in winter, mountain biking and hiking in summer, all steps from the front door. That access, combined with the home’s scale and finishes, gives it genuine potential as a short-term rental or investment property alongside its use as a family retreat.
The result
The Alpine House is a project that leans on the site’s real history rather than erasing it: a century-old structure brought back to a genuinely livable, high-performance standard, in one of the more distinctive settings in our entire service area.
